@ LAKME FASHION WEEK S/R 2016

Indigene by Jaya & Ruchi is a conscious clothing label from Delhi. The label started with a passion for all things handmade. Lending a new perspective to that which is "made by hand"-and turning it into a larger, yet deeply personal, statement. Indigene clothing is simple, modest yet stylish, keeping the essence of handcraft and fine detailing together, appealing to anyone who is experimental, creative and not bound by social norms and brackets. The Indigene woman is independent and free thinking.
Designer Jaya & Ruchi mention, "We are happy to showcase our collection for the very first time at LFW. The silhouettes are simple, unpretentious, with fine embroidered detailing. And the look is never flamboyant, but stylish, classic and wearable.
The label:
Born six summers ago, Indigene is a conscious clothing label from Delhi. An open closet with stories untold. One that speaks of and for artisans and craftspeople across geographies, of consumers who know how it feels to pay it forward... Lending it form, shape and accent are its storytellers, designers Ruchi Tripathi and Jaya Bhatt, textile design graduates from Delhi's National Institute of Fashion Technology.
Together, they do to simple, traditional clothing what nostalgia does to dreams.
