Designer Amit Aggarwal Unveiled his Couture Collection – MAGMA
at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer / Resort 2016
Designer Amit Aggarwal unveiled his couture collection title 'Magma' at the Lakme Fashion Week Spring Summer 2016.
His couture collection titled MAGMA- absorbs form, enveloped within the earth's surface, gathering light within itself. It is a visual, mind-bending adventure where molten liquids and colors burst out together and cool down to form a new earth's surface.
Amit Aggarwal's interpretation of 'Magma' is based on color, surface and form.
The collection transforms from a neutral landscape to a colorful world full of paint forming a psychedelic dream. The surfaces reflect structural influences with fluidity and lightness. Intricate beading, hand painting on industrial fabrics, quilting, pleating and modern textural influences are blended with meticulous draping, creating this collection.
The infusion of femininity and an outburst of unexpected voluminous shapes create an incredible interpretation of this phenomena.
Shares Amit Aggarwal, "Molten magma inspired me, not only visually, but also for its relevance to human emotions. The eruption of something that's bubbling under, creating a spectacle and then giving a new surface upon cooling held its meaning closer to many parallels of human life. I've interpreted the idea visually and metaphorically through a series of couture creations that has just been a part of the Paris Fashion Week. I've pushed myself to work with colour and form unknown to me to create an unusual language of creativity."
